Rpg co op games ps2

Like true bros. The fact that both characters share a bullet pool and weapons roster helps keeps things interesting, forcing each player into different roles depending on the available guns. Bloody Roar has always been my favorite old-school fighter franchise ever since I played the first installment on the original PlayStation. While Bloody Roar has always set itself apart from other franchises with its animal transformation mechanics, this entry sets itself apart from the rest of the series in that the developers put a lot more care into making a balanced fighter.

Whether you live for the furry aesthetic or would rather beat one up, this game allows you to do both. After the critical success that was SSX Tricky, beloved for its wacky style and intense gameplay, expectations were high for the sequel.

Its graphics were simply stunning back then and the open-world aspect that had you racing down different sides of a single mountain was just magnificent. With its warped clinically insane characters, high-octane battle vehicles, and destructive weaponry galore, a 4-man free-for-all in Twisted Metal: Black is the perfect cathartic experience for you and your friends after a bad day.

And while its amazing dark-fantasy storyline is a pleasure to experience by yourself, it can be even better if you get the right friends for some Co-Op action. In fact, the tension that working in tandem brings to the table is vastly superior to simply cheesing enemies by taking advantage of their basic AI.

What makes it work is, of course, that they took the time to make a parallel campaign for Co-Op rather than just forcing a second player into the main story. Kudos to you, Ubisoft. You could also play Nightfire or Agent Under Fire, but this one has considerably better graphics, and Nightfire has terrible bots.

And according to some, the best of the entire series. It also has a pretty large character roster which includes veterans like Sophitia and Nightmare, as well as the bizarre addition of Heihachi Mishima from Tekken.

The fourth installment in the long-storied Dynasty Warriors franchise featured amazing graphics and expanded gameplay features that made it into one of the most well-received by fans worldwide. You may not know this, but the series is loosely based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong. Easily one of the finest literary pieces originating in China, which makes it the perfect game to play with your friends from Book Club.

It serves as a prequel to all other Ace Combat games. It offers an engaging story told through radio chatter and on-screen action to keep you hooked. The gameplay, while not too different from previous games, is incredibly polished and fluid as well. Players control Ryu, but not the one from Street Fighter. In saving a particular citizen, however, he discovers a power deep inside him that he could only have ever dreamed of. When it comes to fantasy titles on the PS2, Rogue Galaxy sets the bar high.

And the best part is that you play as a space pirate in a time when no one can travel… a bit like during the Covid pandemic! The battles are what makes this game great. Like two of the other RPGs in this list below, players level up their weapons instead of messing around with skill trees etc. Mould weapons together to create the ultimate slasher! Get a helping hand from Bambi, and watch as Donald and Goofy assist in your adventure. It sounds like one set are cruel and the other have low self esteem.

Wield magical weapons, use abilities from the world of Final Fantasy, and call spirits to your aid in turn-based battles! The PS2 often surprises me with its graphics, operating far beyond what a console from the year should have been able to cope with. The Final Fantasy demo might have given it away, but this is also a Square game and one that definitely takes and adapts key elements form the FF series.

Who is this game for? Well, specifically fans of RPGs such as Phantasy Star Online and Final Fantasy, but generally anyone who likes attacking ferocious beasties with swords and magic.

Seriously, how many of you can remember playing this game. I think this thing stayed in my disc drive for about 6 months solid! Two races living in seclusion, a spiritual stone that has them up in arms and creating a massive argument….

Still, XII has always been one of my favourites in the canon and more than holds its own with modern RPGs on all the new consoles coming out today….

Can you believe that this was the first Final Fantasy game to boast open world gameplay? It also gave players more control over other party companion characters and what actions they can perform in battle.
